All these ideas and nowhere to file them. I've been musing on this idea, and I think it is, by far, the best way to get many different people involved with respectfully protesting the Heroes for Hire cover: Hold a drive to collect kid-friendly comics with positive portrayals of female characters and donate these collected comics to a children's hospital. However, I also fully understand the logistics of such an idea are positively massive. Any organization would likely have to file for non-profit status before they could hold a drive, and I'm not sure one sponsored by an individual would be accepted by an existing group or a hospital. For issues of centralization, any drive would need to be hosted in the US. I am also working on the assumption that the comics would have to be donated to a hospital generally local to the collection mailing address. Thus, I pose the question: does anyone with experience in non-profit work have advice on the logistics, realities and/or impossibilities of this idea?
