The bad thing about becoming distracted by work is the inevitable Google Reader backlog (not counting my daily NYT newsletter), which has managed to multiply itself even further since I added the Global Post feed into the mix. Admittedly, I kind of like it that way, but I also love consuming information. The only multi-tasking I can do is information consumption--I play all my videogames, do pretty much everything with NPR podcasts going in the background. And since I have a post backlog, that means I also feel compelled to do a best-of roundup. (Also, I will likely weed these down even further before they get added to the Delicious.) - Reminding you that he didn't do all kiddie stuff, a collection of Shotaro Ishinomori covers for the anthology "Play Comic". (Slightly NSFW) - Staying on Ishinomori, a Showa Kamen Rider Coin Collection is being put out. I'd love to see someone make change for that. How many Heisei riders are in a Showa Rider? - For the old-school fans, Sci-Fi Japan has a three-part series on the making of Space Battleship Yamato. - MonkeySee talks about the nostalgia of superhero cartoons and how they formed early comics fans in conjunction with Marvel streaming the original 1967 Spiderman cartoon online. - Roger Ebert takes off Bill O'Reilly's metaphorical package, and the carnage is beautiful. - Also from Ebert, on the art of telling a joke. Galleries: - Wired - Misfits of Motortown, improbale or weird cars. Futurism at work, folks! - Washington Post - Peeps Show III, wherein people create cool things using Peeps.
