International Blog for Entitlement Week
Ah, my writer friend. It is harsh but it must be said. Compared to the studied seduction of the novel, blogging is literary pole dancing. Anyone can stand naked in the window of the public’s eye, anyone can twitch and writhe and emote over the package that was not delivered, the dinner that burned, the friend who forgot your birthday. That is not fiction. That is life, and we all have one. Blogging condemns us to live everyone else’s tedious day as well as our own. - Robin Hobb, Vampires of the InternetWe, as bloggers, must stand up to these false assumptions. Not only do we blog about out tedious days so everyone may experience the sheer boredom that is our LiveJournaling lives, we also blog about how we're deep misunderstood souls who fart rainbows, what we want, and how, GODAMMIT, can't get it and how utterly unfair this is!
Thus, I propose
International Blog for Entitlement Week. Beginning August 19th, we blog for one week about our wants, needs, and how no one understands us. No thing is too little to be discussed in loving, whining detail. We will spend our comments like dollars, handing them over lovingly and freely. If you see a post after the week that is a beautiful beam of blinding blogger entitlement, feel free to link them back and let them know we'd love to have them participate next year!
If you will be participating, please link to this post in your journal, and leave behind a comment so I can be sure to check for the compilation post. Tagging with IBEW is always a huge help, because I'm very lazy and you should appreciate my deep connection to my intrinsic laziness. If you adore this clearly brilliant idea so much that you create icons, banners, what have you, feel free to share them so others may fawn over your Warhol-esque graphical prowess.
(This idea concocted by the mind of
